Ninety Eight Percent
Ninety Eight Percent is a provocative and controversial new crime drama series from Scotland.
Written by Michelle Martin and directed by Bafta nominated Frank McGowan and produced by their own independent Bad Pony Productions, the action packed feature length pilot for the series opens amongst the drugs and dirt and devious activities of the city's criminal underworld where we meet the Spencer family, led by sociopath lesbian [...] dealer Casey Spencer played by Emma Ashby. She is joined by a sterling cast, including Hannah Tiffin, Anne Marie Feeney, Vivien Louise Taylor and Jordan Mc Currach. The series is co-produced/directed by Maureen Joan Somerville.
Intended as a taster and aiming to showcase the characters of Scotland's newest crime drama and set the pace for a potential long running returning series, the pilot was filmed over the summer months 2007 and produced on a low/no budget – the Bad Pony Production team's creative boundaries being pushed to the limit to produce a quality product that could rival what's already on our screens. Ninety Eight Percent offers a glimmer of hope for the reputation of Scottish Independent Television.
UK Premiere
On 1 March 2008, the pilot episode for the series was shown exclusively to an industry, press and media only audience at the acclaimed Glasgow Film Theatre. The event was profiled in the press, and a behind the scenes walkthrough documentary for Channel 4 has been produced by Bad Pony Productions as accompaniment to the pilot.
Following the industry only red carpet first look there will be screenings announced in local press at Walkabout venues around the UK over the summer months.
Series
The first series of Ninety Eight Percent is hoped to begin filming at the end of the year, with the series set to air in autumn 2009.
