Narayan Joshi
Narayan Joshi (; born 29 January 2001) is a Nepalese cricketer who plays as an all-rounder for the Nepal national cricket team and Nepal A cricket team. Joshi is a right-handed lower-order batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler.
Early life and career
Joshi was born in kailali and progressed through Nepal’s age-group cricket system, representing the national U-16 and U-19 teams. He gained recognition through performances in domestic tournaments such as the Manmohan Memorial National One-Day Cup and the Prime Minister Cup, where he played for Sudurpashchim Province. Known as a bowling all-rounder, he became a regular member of the Nepal A team and made his T20 debut against Ireland Wolves on 1 April 2024.
In 2017, Joshi represented Nepal in the ACC U-16 Eastern Region Cricket Tournament in Thailand, contributing with both bat and ball during Nepal’s title-winning campaign. In the final against Singapore, he scored an unbeaten 46 runs and took one wicket as Nepal secured victory by 71 runs.
In November 2024, Joshi was selected for Nepal’s squad in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes. During Nepal’s opening match against England, he dismissed captain Ravi Bopara in a match that ended with a historic win for Nepal.
In May 2026, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) awarded Joshi a central contract for the 2026 season, placing him in Category D. The same month, he was named in the 15-member Nepal 'A' squad led by Anil Sah for the 42nd All India Gold Cup Cricket Tournament in Uttarakhand, India.
Franchise cricket
Joshi has played for several prominent franchises in Nepal's T20 leagues, including the Lalitpur Patriots in the Everest Premier League and the Biratnagar Super Kings in the Nepal T20 League.
In 2024, he was drafted by the Pokhara Avengers for the inaugural edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). Following the 2024 season, he signed with the Biratnagar Kings for the 2025 NPL season. During the 2025 season, he played a vital role in Biratnagar's campaign, notably contributing a quick 25 runs off 16 balls in a last-over victory against the Karnali Yaks.
