N. Jamal Ansari

N. Jamal Ansari is an Aligarh, U.P (India) based freelance social and political commentator. Born on 7th October, 1952 at Rae Bareli, U.P (India) to G .R. Ansari and the late Khalida Begum, he joined Aligarh Muslim University in 1969 as a student of the Pre-University Course. After finishing his education, he joined "Library Cadre" of A.M.U in 1979 at the Library, Z .H .College of Engineering and Technology. He was married to Naushaba Khatoon, daughter of Maqbool Hussain, Gorakhpur in 1981. He has two sons, Fahad Jamal Ansari and Saad Jamal Ansari.

Journalistic Career

He began his journalistic career by writing "Letter to the Editor" and gradually rose to be an independent writer on vital issues concerning Muslims. He published more than 2000 letters in dailies and magazines both in English and Hindi. His articles appear regularly in many publications like The Daily Pioneer, The Radiance Weekly, The Milli Gazette fortnightly, The Mainstream Weekly etc. As far as publication is concerned, till August, 2009 he has published 378 articles in English, 82 articles in Hindi and 2 articles in Urdu. His article "Chaturvarna Order and Islamic Culture" is included in the book entitled "Dalit Egony and Islam" published by Board of Islamic Publications, New Delhi. The said book has been translated in six Indian languages-Gujrati, Malyalam, Kannad, Urdu, Bengali and Oriya. Likewise another article "Blueprint of Sustainable Development of Muslims of India" has become a part of the book entitled "Dalit and Minority Empowerment" edited by Santosh Bhartiya, published by Rajkamal Prakashan, New Delhi. Social Work He is associated with several socio-political organisation. He is a founder President of Indian Democratic Society, Life Member of Indian Humanist Union, Executive Member of Lok-Raj Sangathan (formerly People's Committee of Empowerment), Member of U.P Rabita Committee and Human Development Initiative. Seminar/Conferences He has presented several papers in national and international seminars/conferences on Muslim issues. Specialization His main area of focus is casteism among Indian Muslims, empowerment of Indian Muslims and opposing communalism of every shade. Since 2007, he is looking after translation and media-reporting in the Public Relation Office, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (India) and engaged in working for sustainable development of Muslims in India through writings and social work.
