Muir hostel
Muir Hostel (formaly Dr. Amarnatha Jha Hostel), is a premier hostel affiliated to Allahabad University located in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Its origins lie in the Muir Central College, named after Lt. Governor of North-Western Provinces, Sir William Muir in 1876, who established the prestigious Muir Hostel in 1985, which later evolved to the present Dr. Amarnath Jha hostel. Muir Hostel has an excellent record of producing civilians (IAS officers), whose names are still there on the board. It is also famous for its traditional and cultural activities like Udeesha and Muir Meet.
