Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi

Mufti Hafidh Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi is the current Shaykh Ul Fiqh of Jamia Nizamia, Hyderabad, and the Founder-Director of Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center, Hyderabad. He is well known for his understanding of the principles and precepts of the Quran and the Sunnah and Islamic jurisprudence and how they relate to, and can be implemented in, the life of a Muslim living in the present times. He is an Islamic speaker and delivers lectures and presents papers all over India and abroad as well.

Education

He was born on the August 15, 1975, in Nizamabad district. He completed his introductory education and memorization of the Quran from Dar Ul Uloom An Nomaniya, Hyderabad. For higher Islamic studies, he enrolled in Jamia Nizamia in 1991 and studied from Maulvi till Fazil in Jamia Nizamia. In 1997, he enrolled for Kamil with specialization in Hadith. He completed it with distinction in 1998. During his studies at Jamia Nizamia, he remained a distinction student all along (Awwal Imtiyaazi) and was also the Recipient of many awards, notably the Mufti Raheemuddin Gold Medal and Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam Imam Muhammad Anwaarullah Farooqui Medal.

Teaching career

From his days in Jamia Nizamia, he has also been engaged in teaching as well. After he completed his Kamil, he was appointed as a teacher in Jamia Nizamia. In 2000 he was appointed as Naib Ul Shaykh Ul Fiqh (Associate Professor, Islamic Jurisprudence). At the end of 2010, he was promoted to Shaykh Ul Fiqh, (Professor, Islamic Jurisprudence). He also teaches at the girls’ college (Kulliyatul Banaat) of Jamia Nizamia, at Dar Ul Uloom An Nomaniya and at Al Mahad Ad Deeni Al Arabi.

Establishment of Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center

To propagate Islamic teachings and spread the Islamic way of life as per the requirements of the modern world, Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi established Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center (AHIRC) on December 29, 2007. AHIRC maintains the well-known Islamic website Ziaislamic.com. This website is in 3 languages Urdu, English and Hindi. It is a complete Islamic website. It has 1000+ articles on various topics, 300+ burning topics, 1000+ Fatawa. Apart from this, it also has speeches by Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi, a special section called Video Fatawa and much more. It has special pages on Shaykh Ul Islam Imam Muhammad Anwaarullah Farooqui and Muhaddith-e-Deccan Abul Hasanaat Hadhrat Syed ‘Abdullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri. It also has a special page for women.

AHIRC has various (other) departments like the Dept. of research, Dept. of education, Dept. of Islamic jurisprudence, Dept. of translation, Dept. of Da’wah, Dept. of publication. Many books have been published through AHIRC and Da’wah work is performed in more than 100 mosques in and around the city under its aegis.

As an Islamic speaker

Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi is especially known for his capacity to convey the message of Islam in the simplest and most discernible manner. He is a much sought after speaker in the city and all over India. He delivers weekly lectures at Masjid Abul Hasanaat, Jahanuma, Hyderabad. These lectures are web-streamed over ziaislamic.com and facebook.com/ziaislamic.

He has also delivered lectures at Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, New Delhi and many other places.

Apart from speeches for the populace, Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi has also presented various papers on various topics in seminars and conventions nationally and internationally.

As an author

Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi has authored more than 100 books on various topics. Many of them have been published. Some of them are:

  • Anwaare Khitaabat (1-12) – A book for Islamic speakers, one for each Islamic month.
  • Tasarruf-e-Khair Ul Mursaleen- A treatise on the power and authority given to Muhammad by Allah.
  • Test Tube Baby aur Shara’i Nuqte Nazar- On the Islamic view point about IVF.
  • DNA Test ki Shara’i Haisiyat- On the Islamic viewpoint about DNA testing for various purposes.
  • Haqqaniyat Imam Hussain Raziallahu Anhu aur Hadithe Qustuntuniya- On the excellence of Imam Hussain and a historical analysis of the participation of Yazid in the Battle of Constantinople.
  • Meraj Shareef aur deedare Ilaahi- On the ascension of Muhammad
  • Seeratun Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam – A biography of Muhammad.
  • Masaaile Zakaat – ‘Asr Haazir ke tanaazur mein- On Zakaat, its rules, and the Shariah rulings about modern issues related to Zakaat.
  • Qurbani – Ahkaam aur masaail- On the sacrifice of animals, its philosophy and rules.
  • 20 Raka’at Taraweeh- An analysis of the number of Raka’at in Taraweeh.
  • Ghair Muslimeen se taalluqaat- On The relations between Muslims and non-Muslims

Many of his books have been translated into English, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada languages through the Dept. of Translation of AHIRC. The publication of these books is awaited.

As a spiritual mentor

Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi was accepted as a disciple by Hadhrat Abul Barakaat Syed Khaleelullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri, the eldest son and first successor of Hadhrat Muhaddith-e-Deccan Syed Abdullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri, in his student days. He also drew benefit from the company of Hadhrat Abul Khair Syed Rahmatullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah shower His Mercy on them all), who also served as the chief patron of AHIRC since its inception until his death in 2011. In 2011, he was granted authorization to accept and guide disciples in the Naqshbandi and Qadri orders of Islamic mysticism by Hadhrat Abul Fida Maulana Abdul Sattar Khan Naqshbandi Qadri, who was the disciple and caliph of Muhaddith-e-Deccan Abul Hasanaat Hadhrat Syed Abdullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah shower His Mercy on them both).

Mufti Syed Ziauddin regularly appears as Mufti on various (live) Islamic programs on various channels, including but not limited to, ETV Urdu, Munsif TV, 4 TV and others. Apart from these programs, many channels also show the (recorded and live) speeches of the Mufti.

Articles by Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi have appeared in various newspapers and magazines, including but not limited to, Siasat, Munsif, Rashtriya Sahara, Etemaad, etc. The Fatwa section of the Friday edition of Etemaad Daily is handled by Mufti Syed Ziauddin.
