Mikael Nordin

Mikael Nordin (born November 2, 1971) is a singer-songwriter from Sweden. His songs are written in a state of contemplation and Nordin states that he "hears" the songs rather than writing them them. Being an ordained priest in the Church of Sweden (Lutheran-Evangelical) his lyrics deal with the spiritual side of everyday life.

Nordin was giving away his first full-length record for free as he wanted to pass on what was given to him. Even now he is giving away new songs for free downloads on Box.net

== Biography ==

Nordin was born on the Day of All Souls, which at that time was the warmest November ever in Sweden. Unfortunately he was born into a severely disfunctional family and he experienced many traumas during early childhood and adolescence. His search for alternative realities included music, daydreaming, spiritual search and roleplaying games. His baptism in the early teens and the conversion to christianity made a turnpoint in his life and ever since he has been a devoted christian. As a college student he attended a musicians institute in Stockholm (Södra Latins Gymnasium) where he focused on avant-garde fusion, influensed by guitarist Allan Holdsworth and other musical geniuses. Nordin studied theology at Uppsala University, responding to a calling for priesthood.
During a mid-life crisis he found an inner musical well and he began writing songs again.
Mikael Nordin is married and a father of three daughters. He serves as a priest on the countryside, contributing to the christian community with songs for the congregation and occasional writings and articles.
