Marc Hughes (Irish footballer)
Marc Hughes, (born 15 December 1989 in Dublin) is an Irish footballer currently playing for Bohemians in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Hughes is currently on loan at Shelbourne. Hughes plays as a striker.
Career
Marc joined Bohs in pre-season 2008 and was a regular in Bohs' "A" team that reached the Grand Final of that competition. He made a goalscoring first team debut for Bohs when netting in Bohs' 4-3 win over Shelbourne at Dalymount Park in the 2009 League of Ireland Cup. Hughes followed up this by scoring again in the next round of the EA Sports Cup against Wexford Youths in a 2-1 win.
He bettered this by making his league debut for the club in a 1-0 win over Drogheda United on May 22.1. That game was a dream debut for Marc as he scored the only goal in injury time to keep Bohs in the hunt for the league title Though he spent most of the rest of the 2009 season playing for the "A" Team, he did pick up the first silverware in his senior football career in the September when Bohs beat Waterford United 3-1 in the final of the League of Ireland Cup. Hughes partnered Neale Fenn up front in this match..
Hughes joined Shelbourne on loan from Bohemians on 6 February 2010 for the Tolka Park club's 2010 First Division campaign.
