M8mc music

M8MC Music is a dance music record label located in, and with strong with strong connections to, the city of Derby, Derbyshire, UK. It is part of sister company, Middle 8 Marketing Communications, both owned and managed by Clive Astin, a co-founder of the globally renowned Mantis Recordings, along with fellow musician, Atjazz.

The label's releases include many by Clive himself, under the moniker of Clyde, with MusicAL styles including House Music, Hip Hop and Broken beat. The most notable release on the label is DUCK, an album that features leading artists of Derby origin, including Clyde, Atjazz, Christo and from members of Rhythm Plate: Ant Harrison as YSE and Matthew Hunt as Bleep District. The album, named after the widely used Derby colloquialism, DUCK, also features story telling by members of the local population, recorded at Derby QUAD arts centre, which was also the location of the album's release party.

M8MC Music is located within the historic Banks Mill, a business incubation centre owned by the University of Derby, close to Radio Derby.
