Lyb Stone
Lyb Stone is an American recording artist(born May 7, 1984), in the state of Connecticut
Lyb Stone has been involved in music for the past 15 years, She started writing music at the ripe old age of 10 years old with her first song being published at the age of 12. One of her earliest published songs titled "Save me from Myself" brought an entire audience to tears as the 12 year old Lyb performed with the emotion of a much more mature performer. Her background is in jazz and that soul is evident in her songs and performances.
Biography
Early life
Lyb Stone was born in Connecticut in 1984 but spent most of her time in Kennebunkport, Maine as a child, this is where she found an appreciation for the simple things in life. Her parents were always very supportive and encouraged her to pursue her music. After the Untimely passing of her mother in 1995, which devastated her, she made a commitment to herself that she would pursue her music career to the fullest.
She found that going through personal trials and tribulations during her childhood gave her one thing to adhere to and that was music, Stone saw music as a way to push through the adversity as well as relate to others that were going through similar situations.
Her song "Save Me From Myself" , which will be included on her debut CD to be released in Summer 2009, was the song that was inspired following the untimely passing of her mother in 1995.
All of her music has been inspired by certain events in her life, and her uncanny writing ability brings those events to life which many people can relate to.
This is a fun fact, her mothers ancestors were one of the first settlers in Maine.
Her Music
Stone was credited with various stage performances throughout the East Coast which highlighted not only her singing ability but also her stage acting ability, which came with much praise from the critics. She found here true voice in writing music and bundled that with her unique vocal style to create the total package, with Jazz being one of her earliest influences in music she went on to create her own style that is not pigeon holed into general music genre.
Lyb Stone was one of the youngest students at a prestigious conservatory program in Boston to place in the top ten in a highly competitive songwriting competition at the age of only 15. this set the stage for her continued passion and efforts in singing/songwriting. Being a person who is not one to conform to the masses Stone takes the path less traveled thus making her and her music not only unique in nature but also creating an opening for all young artist to find their own path.
Adversity has brought the best out in Stone at an early age, and 2009 has been a pivotal year for the young up and coming songstress as the New England native is poised to take the music world by storm with her unique style, a style that she plans on staying true to.
In an impromptu performance in New Orleans in 2009 she was drew passersby into the establishment as she sang "Natural Woman" by the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.
Her single "I Can't Be Trusted" has been met with great praise from her fans receiving heavy listenership online and is currently set for rotation at various radio stations, both traditional and Internet/Satellite based
