Luke Weil
Luke Weil is currently the CEO of Andina Acquisition Corporation.
Early life and career
A Manhattan native born on September 11, 1979, Luke Weil attended the Trinity School and Collegiate before graduating from St. Paul’s boarding school in New Hampshire in 1998.
As an undergraduate, Luke attended Brown University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2002.
Upon his graduation, Luke started work at Bear, Stearns and Co. as an analyst in an investment banking division, where he remained until 2004. He then moved to a public affairs, government relations and business consulting firm called Business Strategies & Insight (BSI), where he acted as a liaison between the corporate clients and governments, both domestically and abroad.
In 2006, Luke left BSI and enrolled at Columbia’s Graduate School of Business, where he received his MBA in 2008. After graduating from business school, Weil went to work for Scientific Games Corporation (SG), a diversified gaming company and a market leader in lottery products and services, where he most recently served as Vice President of International Development for Latin American regions. In 2013, Weil was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Andina Acquisition Corporation. He had previously sat on the Board of Directors since 2011.
Luke engages in a wide range of entrepreneurial, investment and philanthropic activities in addition to his work at Andina. He is a partner in LW Air and serves on the boards of Runa LLC, Interactive Commerce Corp. and tech startup SkuRun. Weil is an active member of the board of the Fortune Society and is the Co-Founder and Vice President of Rios Nete, which supports a range of charitable activities in the Amazon rain forest. Luke recently partnered with The Surfrider Foundation and Concerned Citizens of Montauk to spearhead a grassroots effort for local clean water sustainability.
