Luke Archer (fashion brand)

Luke Archer is a British Womenswear fashion brand founded by award winning fashion designer Luke Archer and partner John Silk. The brand specialize in Luxury Womenswear and accessories.

The company is part of the Luke Archer Group of companies.

History

The label was founded in 2010 by Luke Archer and John Silk while Archer was studying his BA Hons degree in fashion design at Middlesex University, London. Luke's graduate AW/12 'Buprestidae' collection, which focused on insects, through subtle beetle prints and bespoke laser cut earrings, was catwalked at the Universities Graduate show in September 2012.

Alfa Romeo Young Designer of the Year Award

In September 2012, Creative Director Luke Archer entered the Alfa Romeo Young Designer of the Year Award competition along with fellow Middlsex University graduate and Milliner George Jenkins, who where to compete with five other fashion Designers from across the UK. The pair where to create six complete outfits which where to be shown at the FS2013 catwalk event at University of St Andrews, Scotland on 16 February 2013, while Archer choosing to create the garments under the Luke Archer brand. On 16 February 2013, both Archer & Jenkins where announced winners of the Alfa Romeo Young Designer of the Year award 2013.

Luke Archer was one half of a duo who won the Alfa Romeo Young Designer of the Year Award 2013, the fashion brand is famous for its use of lines and sweeping curves, and nature inspired prints within its offerings.

Debut at London Fashion Week

On Friday, 13 September 2013, at London Fashion Week, the fashion house debuted their spring-summer 2014 collection entitled 'De l'Océan'. The collection consisted of ready to wear and couture garments. On July 29, 2013, Luke Archer announced that its SS/14 collection would be placed on a week long exhibition at North Hertfordshire College from September 23–29, 2013.

Collaborations

On 4 April 2014, singer/songwriter Sandi Thom wore a bespoke custom made dress made by Luke Archer at the Celebrating Jon Lord event at the Royal Albert Hall.

On Monday 22nd September 2014, it was announced by Luke Archer that they are to again collaborate with singer/songwriter Sandi Thom on an upcoming clothing line called 'Sandi by Luke Archer', which shall be designed in partnership with Sandi herself. Due to debut 2Q 2015.
