Lucideus
Lucideus is an Indian company which provides Digital Security Consulting & Operational Services to Businesses, Governments and Institutions across the globe. Incubated out of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Lucideus is now headquartered in New Delhi and continues to have its research and innovation lab located at the computer science Department Of IIT Bombay.
History
In 2012, Saket Modi a Computer Science engineer, founded Lucideus. Saket along with his co-founder Vidit Baxi gathered together a team of security professionals and started the company with the objective of providing cyber security trainings. In the beginning of 2013, Lucideus launched its range of Enterprise Cyber Security Services and the company today works actively in both the areas.
Products or Apps
UnHack
UnHack was an app developed at the research labs of Lucideus at IIT Bombay. It reverse engineers the permission base that applications take on a smart phone and displays it in a simple to use GUI to the user. In other words, it shows a user which of their apps installed in the phone can access their SMS/Call Logs/Camera/SD Card/Location among others. It also goes ahead and classifies apps into three categories - Safe, Fishy and UnSafe based on the permissions being taken by the app versus what is really required for the app to function.
Lucidroid
Lucidroid is a remote smart phone monitoring tool. It is developed at Lucideus Labs and is not available commercially to end users or corporates.
