List of Crips subsets

The continued list of Crips street gangs encompasses a wide variety of different identities which are the result of decades of internal conflict between its subsets or "sets".

The history of the Crips family of identities can be traced back to the original Crips gang founded at John C. Fremont High School in Florence. The gang was founded by Raymond Washington and Stanley Tookie Williams, who later split the gang into eastside and westside factions. The Eastside Crips remained at Freemont High School in Florence. Tookie Williams became the leader of the Westside Crips on the other side of the 110 freeway of what is now Vermont-Slauson.

The Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crips initially Splintered off from the West Side Crips in the mid 70s. The Rolling 60's Neighborhood Crips rivalry with the Eight-Tray Gangster Crips resulted in the development of the gang's "Tray" and "Deuce" alliances. Gangs allied to the Eight-Tray Gangster Crips became aligned under the "Gangster Crips (3x)", "Tray", or "Movin Gang" card. The "Deuce (2x)" card represents the alliance gangs have with the Neighborhood Crips and Rolling 0's.

The Crips gang splintered off into the Compton area of South Los Angeles leading with the Compton Crips. The Compton Crips were founded by Mac Thomas who had connection to the Westside Crips. Mac Thomas was introduced to Westside Crips leader Tookie Williams through the Crip gang's co-founder Raymond Washington. Raymond Washington's Eastside Crips aligned with the Crip gang Piru Street Family, which were previously rivals of the Compton Crips.

The gang absorbed a previous gang called the Willis Lenchmob Crips, which was rivals to the Liggett Street Gangster Bloods. The gang is also rivals to the Whitsett Avenue Gangster Crips.

The gang's territory is in the heart of Whitsett Ave, which is between Oxnard Street and Sherman Way. The gang is known for representing the color black and wearing the Washington Nationals baseball team due to its letter "W" on the team's fitted hats. The gang's cliques include the 5900 Blocc, 6500 Blocc and the 7100 Blocc, known as the ‘‘567″. Notable members include rapper Big Paybacc, who was shot in Palmdale, California. The gang is allies with allies of Gangsters Finest Criminals, and other Gangster Crip sets. The gang is rivals of the Pacoima Piru Bloods, Ballin On Point (BOP), and the Liggett Street Gangster Bloods, Original Valley Gangster Crips, and Every Woman's Fantasy (E-Dubbs). The gang has also been loose rivals with Dead End Gangster Crips.

• The Rollin 40's Neighborhood Crips (encoded as RFC or R. 40s NHC) are located in the Leimert Park area north of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and south of Vernon Avenue. In 2006, Rollin 40's member Ernest Crayton was shot 5 times, twice in the head in the Western & Vernon area. Vermont-Slauson

• The Rollin 50's Neighborhood Crips (encoded as R 50s NHC) are located in the Vermont-Slauson area east of Vermont Avenue, west of Western Avenue, south of Slauson Avenue, and north of 54th street. In the 1980s, the gang was originally called the 55 Hustler Crips, which was renamed the 55 Neighborhood Crips in the early 90s. The 57th and 58th Neighborhood Crip gangs emerged shortly after which eventually established an umbrella of Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crip identities.

The Watts neighborhood is within South Los Angeles's established "East Side". Gangs within Watts often accept the "Watts Crips" card.
