LearnUpon
LearnUpon is a software as a service learning management system, based in Dublin, Ireland, and established in 2012. It has 800 customer companies worldwide, and offices in Philadelphia, Sydney and Belgrade. LearnUpon supports SCORM and Tin Can/xAPI, as well as allowing uploads of Microsoft Office documents, PDFs, text, image, sound and video files.
LearnUpon has customers in the technology, software, healthcare, banking, and automotive sectors, and is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, Italian, Polish and Russian. As a cloud-based service, updates happen without any customer intervention.
History
LearnUpon was founded in 2012 by Brendan Noud and Des Anderson, CEO and CTO respectively, responding to a market need for an LMS which was quick and easy to set up, and where ongoing support was an important part of the service. LearnUpon received a first round of funding from the NDRC for an undisclosed amount in February 2012, and a second round of funding from Enterprise Ireland, totalling €550,000, in January 2014. After being housed in offices in Baggot Street and Leeson Street, Dublin, the company moved to its current premises in Smithfield,_Dublin in March 2016. It currently employs 50 people. In December 2017, LearnUpon won Gold in the Best Advance in Learning Management Technology for Small- and Medium- Sized Business category in the Brandon Hall Awards.
Features
LearnUpon has a built-in testing engine which allows the creation of exams and surveys. As well as an integrated eCommerce module including course reviews, SEO features, multiple payment gateway support, and discount coupon functionality. It also supports the awarding of branded certificates on course completion and a suite of reports which can be run to screen, excel or PDF and can be scheduled to run automatically either daily, weekly or monthly as required. White-labelling is available, and clients can run multiple sub-portals, with user groups providing more granular segmentation of end users.
