Quick learn code

Quick Learn Code (QL - Code) - The Quick Learn Code has been derived as part of a method for embedding learning technologies in the workplace through the use of mobile devices and tablets. This term is associated with the popular QR codes (Quick Response) which are being widely used. Essentially, the learner is able to scan a QL code in the working environment with a mobile or tablet device. Once this has been done the learner will have access to a online web 2.0 resource such as a podcast/video or assessment for example. They are then able to complete some form of bite-sized learning whilst being immersed in the workplace experience. This process is effectively 'on the job' learning which is now widely considered to be the most common form of learning. The assessment is then managed by a Learning Management System (Moodle) that will collate all of the data at a central location; thus providing a platform to view the learners results.
