Kumar Urban Development Limited
Kumar Urban Development Limited is abbreviated as KUL and was formerly known as Kumar Builders. It is a real estate development and construction company focusing on residential and commercial development projects in Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Panchgani and Nagpur.
Currently KUL is managed by Chairman Mr. Lalitkumar Jain. The company was incorporated in 1993 and accordingly restructured the entities of the group in 2006. KUL’s expertise lies in the area of architecture, design, project planning & implementation, legal matters, procurement and marketing. KUL holds the ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certificates for Quality, Environment, Health and Safety management system standards with the scope of Design, Development, Construction and Marketing of Residential and Commercial Complexes. Kumar Urban Development Limited is the holding company with a number of project held in its subsidiary firms.
The corporate philosophy of KUL is based on the foundation of trust and building homes for families. KUL as a brand majorly focuses on core values of a family unit and hence their new identity KUL (which means family in Hindi) was established recently. The name also reflects their age-old values as they continue to build homes & life spaces.
History
KUDL was incorporated on May 25, 1993 by Mr. Lalit Kumar Jain. The company is an offshoot of the erstwhile Kumar Group, promoted by Mr. K.H. Oswal (father of Mr. Lalit Kumar Jain) in 1966 for carrying out real estate and construction business. The name of the company was subsequently changed to Kumar Urban Development Limited by a special resolution of the members passed at a general meeting of the Company on January 25, 2008. The fresh certificate of incorporation consequent upon the change of name was granted on February 7, 2008 by the Registrar of Companies, Pune.
Recent Activities
Currently, KUL has 15 ongoing projects across four cities with 3.76 million sq. ft. of estimated developable area and estimated saleable area of 3.12 million sqft. They have 48 forthcoming projects with 73.37 million sq. ft. of developable area and estimated 63.18 million sq. ft. of saleable area. KUL has acquired majority interests in certain entities forming part of their group. They started their operations in Pune and gradually expanded to cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Panchgani and Nagpur. They have completed 2.94 million sq. ft. of developable area since 2006 including 11 residential which include one-redevelopment project and 7 commercial projects. Their residential segments include of high-end residential projects, mid-income as well as affordable housing projects.
