'''Jason "Sparky" Knirck''' is a modern [[Ireland|Irish]] historian who also teaches [[United Kingdom|British]] and [[Western European]] history. His research concerns the Irish revolution and the foundation of the [[Irish Free State]], focusing particularly on the political rhetoric of the period.

He graduated from Hanford High School in 1989. There he was involved in the math team and key club. He also played sports including golf and basketball. He is currently at work on a book-length project on the relationship between the Free State political party [[Cumann na nGaedhael]] and the legacy of the Irish revolution.{{Fact|date=April 2008}} Before starting at Central Washington University. in 2004, he taught for three years as an assistant Professor at [[Humboldt State University]].

He is known in student circles for his oft-repeated encouragement in the use of Wikipedia, especially for research papers.
He greatly enjoys/is addicted to Mt. Dew, although over the years he has been drinking more Diet Mr. Dew.
Prides himself as the only faculty member on campus to speak both [[Tagalog language|Tagalog]] and [[Latvian language|Latvian]].
Hopes to introduce a course in the next academic year that centers around the [[Twilight series]] and its relationship to the history of the Pacific Northwest.
