Infonic is a UK-based company which develops document management, enterprise content management, text analysis and SharePoint replication software.
History
Infonic was founded in January 2000 as Corpora ltd. At that time the company was wholly focused on developing and bringing to market text analytics technology. In April 2004, Corpora acquired Exago Ltd from British Telecommunications plc. In April 2004, Corpora opens its first United States office in Reston, Virginia (outside of Washington, DC). In June 2004, Corpora acquired Infonic Ltd, a London based Online reputation management specialist. In August 2004, Corpora acquired Algorithmix, a Brighton based text analytics company. In December 2005, Corpora acquired iOra Ltd, a Basingstoke based geo-replication company. In January 2006, Corpora acquired Tokairo Ltd, a Milton Keynes based document management company. In May 2006, Corpora opened an office in Singapore. In June 2006, Corpora was rebranded as Infonic.
In February 2009, Infonic plc briefly went into administration after the company stated that revenues for 2008 were below forecast due to delays in material contracts. . The company was sold for £3.5m to Lake House Capital Limited on 10th February 2009. This acquisition enabled the companies operations to continue with customers and staff unaffected.

Document Manager
Infonic Document Manager improves document management, archiving and workflow for SME and Enterprise clients, including DHL. Infonic is the preferred Document Management supplier to Konica Minolta UK. Infonic is also a document management partner to eCopy and was the first document management company to provide a 2 way eCopy connector which allows MFD users to retrieve documents from within their document management system via a connected Multi Functional Device.
Geo-Replicator
Infonic Geo-Replicator is a geo-replication technology improves Microsoft SharePoint access for users at the edge of military, commercial and aid organisations. Global users of Infonic Geo-Replicator include the United States Navy, Christian Aid, the Federal Aviation Administration and Dredging International. In 2008 Infonic won a major defence sector contract with EDS and the Atlas Consortium to supply geo-replication technology to the UK Ministry of Defence.
Text Analytics
Infonic text analytics software is sold under the brand Sentiment. This technology, which was covered in New Scientist magazine, reads high volumes of news story and decides whether the coverage is positive negative or neutral. This technology has now been integrated into the Thomson Reuters RMDS system. The technology enables Thomson Reuters to supply trading banks with market sentiment signals for use in algorithmic trading systems.
