The company was founded in 2013 by Gil Eyal, who is the current CEO of the company. Eyal is a well-known figure in the Israeli startup scene. He has a history of working with celebrities as the COO of photo sharing app Mobli, where he became a pioneer in the influencer marketing space. For the app he recruited 120 celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Serena Williams, Lil Wayne and Austin Mahone. Eyal was selected as one of ten Israelis impacting the New York Tech Scene by Israel21c, and won the Platinum award at the Marcom Awards for excellence in marketing and communications. Eyal was the keynote speaker at several of the main influencer marketing events in 2017, including Influencer Marketing Days in New York City, and Influencer Marketing Hub in London.
Algorithm
The company claims to have a different algorithm from other marketing platforms. The platform crawls different social media accounts around the world, using proprietary databases and algorithms to understand the nature of their audience demographics. The search engine is able to make informed recommendations, sourcing influencers that directly reach the relevant audience. In June 2017, HYPR announced it had audience demographic and profile information as its feature. The company is known for developing and patenting the world’s first influencer duplicate audience identification tool which can rank influencers in a group based on how many unique followers they contribute to a pool. The development was done in partnership with Mediacom.

HYPR’s data is accessible through a Software as a Service online platform or through a developer API. Customers are required to sign 1 yearlong engagement deals. In July 2017 rumor spread that the platform generated $6.4 million in subscription fees.
