High Light Electric Inc.

High Light Electric Inc. is a construction company founded by Pedro T. Mendoza and Margarita Mendoza in Riverside, California in 1996. In 2000, High Light Electric along with its brother company, Pete & Sons Construction, began to perform full-service general construction. Both companies continue to be family-owned businesses. High Light Electric has been included as subcontractor in many high-profile construction projects:

  • (1) Los Angeles Exposition Light Rail Transit Project: High Light Electric was selected as a subcontractor for the FCI, Flour, and Parsons joint venture.
  • (2) Pomona Freeway HOV Lane Project Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights: High Light Electric was selected as a subcontractor by Skansa USA to help in the construction of carpool lanes in both directions of SR-60 between the Orange Freeway (SR-57) and the San Gabriel River Freeway (I-605). The Pomona Freeway HOV Project has been labeled as a Top-25 California Highway Project in 2008.

High Light Electric has been ranked by Hispanic Business.com as a Top-500 Hispanic-owned company. In 2008, High light Electric was ranked as number 311 out of 500. In 2007, High Light Electric was ranked as number 280 out of 500. High Light Electric has also been ranked by Hispanic Lifestyle Magazine as a Top Latino business in the Inland Empire. In 2008, the company was ranked as number 21. In 2007 it was ranked as number 20. The company has also been ranked by Inc. as one of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the United States. The company was ranked 4,171 out of 5,000. In 1996, the company also received the "Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award" by the United States Small Business Association and presented by President William Jefferson Clinton.
