Hayley Elliott Stuart
Hayley Stuart (born June 1, 1988) is an English director and writer. As well as making films independently, she has collaborated with her best friend Francesca Sophia. Stuart and Sophia co-founded Pretend We Don’t Exist Productions in 2005.
Since 2005, she has directed several short films including How to Say I Love You, We Could Be Flying, The Child, You Could Meet Somebody Who Really Loves You, Olivia, Explorer, and Absentee..
As of June 2008, Stuart (under the username pretendwedontexist) has been a YouTube Partner as well as being involved in the YouTube Screening Room.
The popularity of Stuart’s YouTube channel has led to media coverage on the website of BBC Manchester, in the Manchester Evening News, an interview with Byron Evans on Channel M, where Stuart and Sophia were referred to as a "female version of the Coen Brothers", and their film Olivia, Explorer was included in a list on the South Manchester Reporter website of the most popular YouTube videos made in South Manchester.
Stuart's film How to say I love you played on the Opening Night of NFFTY 2009 and was nominated for a distribution deal with Indie flix
Stuart is currently working on two projects as director of photography and her debut feature film in the role of writer/director.
