Hands of Time(HOT)
'HANDS OF TIME (HOT)' is an Alternative Rock Band formed in Italy in 2008 by lead vocalist/ guitarist Leo Forini and lead guitarist Nicholas Arianni.
The band reached popularity in 2009 with their first album "H.O.T.", which spawned several hit singles including "Stand By The Bomb", "Medicine Girl" and "The Priest". The band changed its stylistic approach and music through the years: the heavy rock of the beginnings moved to a more complex and modern genre, mixing Rock music, Industrial, Pop, Stoner rock, Heavy metal and Dance music, that created a personal sound, which HANDS OF TIME is well known for.
The band was formed in Orvieto, Italy, in late 2008, out of the ashes of lead vocalist Leo Forini and drummer Nico Rondinelli's previous band, "Dafne", and Nicholas Arianni's “Rifflessi”, later to complete the line-up by recruiting bass player Paul Mc Hario.
H.O.T. saw the light of day as a tribute band to the 80's rock music, but quite soon became an original project, always tied to the rock roots which Leo and the others belonged to, but constantly evolving through many genres as expression of the different musical background the band is made of. This development finds its best example in the last album, TIME TO THINK (Part I).
History
The Band took its first steps on the international music market signing a record deal with STF Records in June of 2009. Seven months after it was founded they released their debut album, H.O.T.
Distributed in Europe and Australia, the LP achieved good results in terms of selling and very positive feedback, leading H:O.T. to start touring Europe in 2010 as the opening act for Dave Evans (singer), former AC/DC singer. At the end of the same year, Hands Of Time released for free a Christmas single, "Before It's Christmas".
In 2011 the band had a breakthrough in stylistic change and put the basis for a collaboration with Roy Thomas Baker, former producer of Queen, Guns n' Roses, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne and many others. The deal never developed to an official production collaboration, due to different opinions regarding the marketing and music strategy the band had to stick to.
2012 was the beginning of the collaboration with producer Andrea Mescolini of Bonsai Studio Produzioni , and the release of an EP called THE MISTRAL BLOWS, well known for "gossip" matters related to Amanda Knox, who wrote the script fot the official music video of the homonymous single during her detention in Capanne Jail, Perugia, charged with [...]. The band appeared on CNN to talk about their working relationship with her.
The four new songs included in the EP marked a radical step, where the old style hard rock music of the early years got replaced by a more mature and charming sound; an accurate and courageous mix of many genres, maintaining the rock roots the band started from.
This brought H.O.T. to "THE MISTRAL BLOWS European Tour", in 2013, which saw the band performing throughout parts of Europe and the UK.
Beginning 2014, then, means the sign of a brand new record deal with BS Production, for the production and release of the second album.
The new LP, called TIME TO THINK, unveiled July 14th, 2014, in free download on the band's official web channels, will be released worldwide Dicember 1st, under Masterpiece and Believe Digital distribution.
It perfectly embodies the style and philosophy of the band.
TIME TO THINK (Part I)
From a classic, "Hard Rock", that marked the band since the beginning of its career, H.O.T. moved its stylistic approach to a sound closer to Indie and alternative music, fusing stoner, alternative rock, electro pop, industrial and Rock’n'Roll itself. The new album, TIME TO THINK, fully embraces this brand new musical style. a The use of "70's rock" style harmonies, lay over powerful guitars that recall the 80's alternative rock, mixed with experimental sounds and vocal lines closer to progressive and indie rock, create the right mood to support a deep message of freedom and protest, which TIME TO THINK arose as flag for.
It describes the alienation, loneliness and the need of a cornerstone with emphasis on the constant fight for freedom. "It's meant - Leo Forini said - to underline the contraddiction the society is living through, dying in! Music comes back as a loud message for the masses, against the political and economic powers, as it used to be"
