Hamid Malouqa al-Zliteni

Hamid Malouqa al-Zliteni (Arabic: حامد ملوقة الزليتني; died 8 June 2016) was a Libyan commander of the Islamic State (IS) in Sirte, Libya. He was described as a senior Islamic State commander during the Battle of Sirte (2016).

Biography

Little information is publicly available about al-Zliteni's early life, including his exact date of birth. His surname indicates an association with the Libyan city of Zliten.

During the Second Libyan Civil War, he became a commander within the Islamic State's branch in Libya, which controlled the city of Sirte from 2015 until its defeat in 2016. He was reported killed during the battle for Sirte in June 2016.
