Abdul Adeem al-Maadani

Abdul Adeem al-Maadani (died 1 November 2016) was a Libyan military commander serving with the Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous forces during the Battle of Sirte (2016). He was killed by an Islamic State sniper while leading operations against the militant group in the Jizah district of Sirte.

Military career

Al-Maadani served as a commander in the Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous operation, the coalition of predominantly Misratan forces fighting on behalf of Libya's internationally recognized Government of National Accord (GNA) against the Islamic State in Sirte.

On 1 November 2016, he was killed by an Islamic State sniper during clashes in the Jizah neighborhood of Sirte as pro-government forces continued their offensive to recapture the city from the militant group.
