History
Charles D. Ellis founded Greenwich Associates in 1972 with an initial offering in personal trust services, large corporate pensions, and large corporate banking in the United States. What began as a single office in Greenwich, Connecticut for 10 employees, came to comprise over 150 professionals in four locations on three continents. The firm’s client base has expanded from 28 North American-based clients in its first year of business to over 250 global relationships today.

In addition, Greenwich Associates interviews and surveys an additional 20,000 middle-market companies small businesses about their banking and finance needs and practices.
Companies and buy-side institutions participate in Greenwich Associates’ research programs in order to access a library of research including: rankings of the service quality and competitive positioning of important financial service providers, benchmarks on business, risk management and financing practices among relevant peer groups — including compensation, staffing and other important internal metrics — and analysis of critical market trends affecting their businesses.
