Get Down (Shinee song)

"Get Down" is a K-Pop song of hip hop music genre performed by the South Korean contemporary R&B idol group Shinee and featuring Luna from another idol group f(x). It is included as the fourth track in their third EP, 2009, Year of Us, which was released digitally on October 22, 2009 under the record label of S.M. Entertainment. The song was promoted on local music programs as well as performed during various concert tours.

Production

The song, recorded in 2009, belongs from the hip hop music genre and features mainly the self-composed rap of Shinee's members Key and Minho and background vocals of fellow label mate Luna from another idol group f(x). Music producers involved in the production included the veteran songwriters Solomon Cortes, Script Shepherd, Antwann Frost and Charley Paige. The lyrics were penned by Key and Minho themselves as well as SM Entertainment's long time associates JQ, Big Tone and Ryan Jhun.

Live performances

Shinee first showcased the live performance of "Get Down" during the end-year special broadcast of Show! Music Core on December 26, 2013 along with their hit single "Ring Ding Dong". To showcase the group's versatility in different styles of music, the song was added in the set-list of all concerts of joint tour SM Town Live '10 World Tour. "Get Down" was also included in the first three opening songs during all the stages of Shinee's first headlining tour Shinee World. Due to song's popularity, it was performed once again at the group's winter festival concert SM Town Week - "The Wizard" on December 21, 2013.
