George Hodgeson Zinn

George Hodgeson Zinn is a Utah Republican charged with [...] exploitation of a minor. He is notable for initially claiming involvement in the 2025 [...] of Charlie Kirk.

Early life

George Zinn was born of Greek origin. He was adopted by Norma and Overton Zinn and grew up in Ogden, Utah with a Latter-Day Saints upbringing. Overton Zinn passed away on October 16, 1966, when George was 12 years old. He attended Ben Lomond High School and graduated in 1972.

Adulthood

After high school, he attended the University of Utah. He wrote editorials for The Daily Utah Chronicle and continued to do so many decades after graduation.

He claimed to vote for Ronald Reagan in the 1980 US presidential election and claimed that America was in "good hands".

He attended the preliminary court hearing for Kobe Bryant's [...] assault accusation. In 2020, he claimed that he would vote for Donald Trump in the presidential election, but he did not support all of his policies.

On September 10, 2025, George Zinn attended a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University featuring Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk was shot and was later pronounced dead. Shortly after shots were fired, George claimed to be the shooter. Police detained him, and they found that his phone contained child [...] abuse material.
