Ronald Quigley (born October 6, 1952) is an American actor, Director, and film festival organizer. He is the founder of the Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival (PIFF), which focuses on independent and micro-budget productions. Quigley has appeared in several films and television projects, including The Last Act (2012), Wally Got Wasted (2018), and Bad Advice (2024).

Early life and education

Quigley was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is of Irish descent. Before beginning his acting career, he owned North Sides Records, a recording studio in Pittsburgh. He later worked as a firefighter for the City of Pittsburgh for 21 years before retiring. Quigley earned an associate degree and relocated to Los Angeles in 2002.

Career

Acting and directing

Quigley has worked in film, television, and theater since the early 2000s. His stage performances include roles in All My Sons, Jimmy Christ, and Galatea.

In film and television, Quigley has accumulated more than 25 acting credits, as well as work as a writer and director. He directed and appeared in The Last Act (2012) and A Stark Reality (2019). His television appearances include the series Bad Advice (2024–), in which he plays a recurring character named Dallas. As of 2025, he is reported to be involved in the production of a feature film titled Attachment Theory.

Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival

In 2010, Quigley established the Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival (PIFF), an annual event showcasing independent and low-budget films. The festival was originally held at the Hollywood Theater in Dormont, Pennsylvania, before moving to venues in McKees Rocks, including the Parkway Theater and Film Lounge.

The festival includes screenings in various categories such as drama, comedy, experimental, and documentary. According to the Pittsburgh City Paper, the event was named “Best of Pittsburgh” in 2023 and 2024 by reader poll.
