The episode begins with a live action sequence very similar to that of The Honeymooners, where John K. calls Ralph Bakshi on the phone saying he messed up on part 2, so Ralph would get to introduce the first half. He and his wife share some amusing banter, before showing the original Fire Dogs cartoon from season 1.

Following the original Fire Dogs episode, the new cartoon opens where the old version of Firedogs left off. The fireman is congratulating The Two when he starts to undergo a horrifying transformation into a rather slovenly caricature of Ralph. His personality changes as well to dimwitted and slow. He decides he can't remember Ren and Stimpy's names so opts to re-name them Tommy and Eddie. In celebration of the great rescue, he invites the boys to buy him some pizza. But first they stop by his fetid apartment for a "cwap". It's a very painful and stubborn one and fears for his life that "it May Be his last poo." Our heroes manage to pull him through. As a token of gratitude, Ralph makes them his business partners at the Fire Station.

It goes back to a live action farewell sequence, and part 1 ends.

Notes And Trivia

• This episode is considered by fans of the new series to have the least favourable drawings and feel that Fire Dogs 2: Part 2 has the better artwork and story.
