Fia Starr Roan, better known by her rap artist name Starr, is an actress, singer, dancer and rap artist. She is best known for her appearance in the motion picture [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Label| The Label] and for performing on the soundtrack Cinematic Gangsta: The Label Motion Picture Soundtrack. Roan currently resides in Beverly Hills, CA.

Early years

Born in Brazil on July 14, 1985, Roan started performing at age 12 as a dancer in community talent shows. Roan went on to become a dance instructor and recreational director for a local senior activity center.

Roan took on a summer job teaching show performers how to dance, which is where she met Nick Silva and Jason Jett, who were both working a cruise ship. Together they formed an independent film troupe. This meeting proved to be important, as Roan gained valuable experience working on various film projects ranging from short films to music videos.

Acting

Roan began her film career appearing in short films and commercials. Roan’s big break came when she landed the starring role of Starr, the female bodyguard to the hip-hop mogul “Big” Mack “Money in the feature film The Label. Roan did extensive training in martial arts and boxing in order to prepare for the physical demands of the role.

Roan also makes an appearance in the 2008 documentary film Hip-Hop: The Business Behind The Music. In the documentary, Roan is interviewed about her experience as an actor and rap artist in the hip-hop industry.

Music career

Roan also appears as the rap artist Starr on the album Cinematic Gangsta: The Label Motion Picture Soundtrack. Starr and "Big" Mack "Money" are collectively know as Cinematic Gangsta under the Sinistar Record label distributed by Touch Money Entertainment. Roan sings and raps on all 14 tracks of the soundtrack. Roan also appears in the 2 music videos for the soundtrack, which are “The Label” (title song) and “Super Starr”.

Trivia

Roan's brother is currently serving in the Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC). Roan's father is an oil salesmen.
