Featherston Drive Public School

Featherston Drive Public School is an elementary public school under the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. It accommodates students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.

History

Construction on Featherston PS began in 1962 and the doors opened to students in 1964. In the early years, the students were primarily of European ancestry. With recent increased immigration to Canada from Third World countries, the school has evolved into a multicultural environment. The student body is comprised of students from over 65 countries, this includes a large proportion of families in subsidized housing and living at or below the poverty line.

Facilities

Students have access to a regular sized gym and an exercise room. In addition, there is a large outdoor green space with a playground.

The library has a computer lab in a specially designed computer classroom to ensure students have access to a variety of design and technology experiences.
