Fadavi Doctrine
The Fadavi Doctrine is an Iranian policy proclaimed by the Naval commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, Ali Fadavi, on the Fars News Agency on 6 September 2012.
Fadavi had stated: "The Zionist regime separated from America has no meaning, and we must not recognize Israel as separate from America."
"On this basis, today only the Americans have taken a threatening stance towards the Islamic Republic," Fadavi said. "If the Americans commit the smallest folly they will not leave the region safely."
The Fadavi Doctrine can therefore be summed up as: Any attack by the State of Israel on the Islamic Republic of Iran will be regarded by the latter as an attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran by the United States of America and will be the subject of immediate retaliatory counter-attacks.
