Dji Dieng

Dji Dieng (b. July 13) in Thiès, Senegal is a French model.

Early life

Dji Dieng was born in Thies (Senegal) and was raised in Senegal, France and United States of America. Dji got into the modeling industry when she was discovered by a talent agent in Paris.

Career highlights

Dji moved to Paris and Milan, where she learned Italian language perfectly and later moved to New York City. In her early career stage she signed with Metropolitan. She then moved to Paris, to further her career. She also appeared in music videos with Supermax.

Today she her companies Dji Dieng Management and CCR Universal Entertainment are cooperating with selected model agencies as ELITE MODEL MANAGEMENT, Slides Model Management, Metropolis and others.

Dji's role as Goodwill Ambassadress for the UNESCO Children Villages and UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka is exemplary, and her further social engagements as icon for the HIV Prevention and Breast Cancer Prevention are honored with the AWARD FOR HUMANITY 2007.

In 2008 Dieng has been nominated President of 1 ZeroMalaria Association Paris / ZeroMalaria e.V. Munich, the most important non-governmental and non-profit organizations in the combat against Malaria. Among the Goodwill Ambassadors for ZeroMalaria are Salif Keita (UN Ambassador), Jody Watley (Grammy Award Winner), Gavin Rajah (UNICEF Ambassador) and many other artists and celebrities.

Dji is known as "The Model with the longest legs", measured with an outseam of 125 cm

She has appeared in advertising campaigns of Make-up Forever, M.A.C., Clarins Cosmétiques, Coca-Cola Light, Alfa Romeo, Vivienne Westwood, J&B, NOKIA, Universal Music, SoNize, Triumph, Tourist Board and many others.

In 2005 she won the Canon ProFashional Awards.

In 2007 she was honored as a Goodwill Ambassadress with the Leading Ladies Award and the United Nations Volunteer Award.

When she is not on the catwalk she is an advocate for HIV/AIDS and breast cancer awareness. Every year she participates at the biggest HIV Prevention Charity Event Life Ball.

Humanitarian

For many years Dji Dieng is involved into humanitarian support.

She was honoured with the Award For Humanity, The Leading Ladies Award and the United Nations Volunteer Award for her social engagements for UNESCO, but also for HIV / AIDS prevention and breast cancer.

Dieng has been appointed President of ZeroMalaria Association, a non-profit and non-governmental humanitarian organization that was created with a goal to fight malaria, a disease which kills millions of people every year in Africa, Asia and The Americas. The principal objective of this charity association is to promote the prevention and treatment of malaria through the collection and distribution of important materials like mosquito nets and medicine to ensure treatment against malaria.

Having been a victim of malaria herself, Dieng decided to found, together with other celebrities as Jody Watley (Grammy Award Winner), Salif Keita (UN Goodwill Ambassador), Gavin Rajah (Designer and UNICEF Ambassador), Supermax (2 times Golden Aphex Award for best selling artist), Gitta Saxx, New Sin, Coshiva, Solo Dos, Stamina, Gattinoni (Italian Haute—Couturier), Eymeric Francois (French Haute-Couturier), Yiannos Xenis (Greek Haute-Couturier) a.m.o., the ZeroMalaria Association to combat one of the most dangerous diseases of our planet.
