Digital Engine

Digital Engine is a series of mini PC systems specially designed for application by AOpen Inc. The Digital Engine series is very flexible and can be applied to many different applications such as car PCs, KIOSK, digital signage solutions, POS, medical and security PCs and many more.

Hardware overview

The Digital Engine is a 1.22L with fan or fanless solutions. All engines support Intel mobile processors and HD or Full HD video output ability. Each and every AOpen Digital Engine has passed shock and vibration operation tests with 40,000 hour MTBF, 8G operation shock and 0.5Grms operation vibration tests, guaranteeing long time operation capability. The components and internal layout can be customized by request, such as BD/DVD optical drive, wireless module, Analog/Digital TV tuner card and Blue Tooth functions. And the back and front IO ports can be changed for special requirements. The fanless Digital Engine cannot equip optical drives and is heavier than fan version due to thermal design.

The most powerful Digital Engine product is DEX4500. It adapts Intel GM45 and ICH9M for Core 2 Duo processors and equips an HDMI port with HDCP for full HD content. Furthermore, its multi-channel audio output is ideal for high quality multi-sensual experience. The DEX4500 has compact dimensions (200mm x 200mm x 60mm) and fan-less design.

Application

AOpen’s Digital Engine series is very flexible and idea for digital signage solutions and many more. Each and every AOpen Digital Engine passed shock and vibration operation tests with 40,000 hour MTBF which guarantees their long time operation. AOpen also designs various mounting kits and case for different applications.

For multi Digital Engine conditions AOpen Engine Core can hold 3 or 6 Digital Engines in a strong, easy maintained, and well-managed case. AOpen Titan One holder series is designed to hang digital signage firmly for in-store digital signage quick deployment.
