List of future Intel Xeon microprocessors

The Xeon microprocessors from Intel are CPUs targeted at the server and workstation markets.

It is not yet clear whether there will be a native Merom-based server processor with four cores on a single die sharing a large third-level cache; at earliest this would Appear in the 2008 timeframe. It's very likely we won't see a native quad-core based on Core microarchitecture, with the advent of the first native quad-cores by Intel to come with the arrival of Nehalem and its derivatives in H2 2008.

Six-core server processors

In October 2007, PC Watch claimed (http://pc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/2007/1018/kaigai394.htm) the existence of Dunnington, a 45nm processor with six Intel Core microarchitecture cores on a single die sharing a 16MB last-level cache. This would be a replacement for both Tulsa and Tigerton, designed for four-socket configurations using a 1066MT/s front-side bus.
