Detmold (packaging)

The Detmold Packaging Group is a privately owned paper and board packaging company established in Adelaide, Australia by Colin Detmold in 1948. The company is still owned by the Detmold family, and Rodney Detmold is executive chairman.

The group consists of various divisions, notably:

The company has more than $366 million a year in turnover and employs over 3,000 workers in the manufacturing operations in South Australia, China, Indonesia, Singapore and South Africa..

Sales offices can be found worldwide, in cities including Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Auckland, Shanghai, Heshan, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Singapore, Taipei, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Beijing, London, Dubai, Johannesburg and London.

Products

Detpak

Detpak1 is the sales and marketing arm of Detmold Packaging. Concentrating on the food service industry, Detpak expanded from its base in Australia in the mid 1980s and now has offices in North Asia, South East Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Detpak supplies food packaging products to clients such as McDonalds, KFC, Subway and Starbucks in addition to smaller restaurants and coffee shops.

Detpak has bought many product innovations to the packaging market. The most notable of these are the Ripple-Wrap™ Hot Cup[5], an insulated coffee cup with “corrugated” board wrapping, and the Pail-Pak™, with other unique products including windowed Retail Bags and the Det-Pouch.[6]

In line with the company's commitment to providing both environmentally and socially sustainable packaging[7], Detpak recently introduced a new, 100% compostable food packaging range to the food service market, which the company has branded Rebbit™[8].

Paper-Pak

Paper-Pak2 is a marketing division that concentrates directly on the retail market. Paper-Pak products include paper carry bags, gift bags, tissue wrapping, and upmarket boutique paper bags.

Detmold Industrial

Detmold Industrials [http://www.detmoldindustrial.com.au/asp_3/index.asp]sell directly to manufacturers, specialising in products such as heavy-duty, industrial strength paper bags.

Detmold Flexibles

Detmold Flexibles3, previously Charles Gabb Flexible Packaging, was purchased by Detmold in 2005.
