Deseized
Deseized (Also typeset DESEIZED) is a heavy metal band from the area of Follo, Norway.
Early Days
Hævven, Haraldsen and Lien first joined forces in 1999 in the band Sinister Six. The group played punk rock and performed live shows in their local venues. They managed to grow a decent fanbase before internal disputes forced their drummer to leave the band in early 2003. As a result of this the band went into a hiatus. Though on hiatus the remaining members continued to jam with Haraldsen filling in on drums.
Forming Deseized
After a couple of months on hiatus, Lensjø joined the band in spring 2003. During the spring and summer the band played numerous concerts throughout the local community under a number of monikers. Later that year the band started doing rehearsals with long time friend Magnus Bocianowski. Bocianowski was already known as a prominent drummer in Ski from playing with other local acts such as Blazing Thunder. Comfortable with the line up, they decided to keep it stable and work on new material.
First release
Nearly two years after the initial start of Deseized the band entered a studio to record their first EP. "Scream with us - EP" was recorded at SLProduksjon during the summer of 2005 and released subsequently. The EP was produced by Sondre Larssen and Deseized. It was self financed and released on a DIY basis with a limited amount of 200 copies. The EP sold out within the year. The vocalist, Andreas Lien, later tattooed the artwork of the EP on his upper right arm.
Second Release
In 2007 the band again entered a recording studio with new material to put down. Now using Top Room Studios to record another EP. After nine days of recording five new songs the band decided that they would take another trip to the studio and make a full length album. Still financing the recording sessions themselves the band was forced to wait another year until they were able to record five more songs in the same studio. On May 30th, 2009 the band held a release concert for their first full length release named "The Trophy of our Demise". The release was also followed by a music video for the song "Siren". Also, the song "Calvary" was used in the Norwegian block buster "Switch".
