Dayanand Public School

The school was founded in 1989 with the aim of providing modern academic instruction alongside value-based education inspired by the ideals of the Arya Samaj.

Campus and facilities

The campus includes classrooms, science and computer laboratories, and a library.

31 October 2025, the school inaugurated newly renovated laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, as covered in regional media.

Controversy

  • In June 2016 a student of Class XI was shot by a classmate within the school premises; the injured boy was hospitalised and later stabilised. The shooter, two pistols and other linked persons were apprehended by police.
  • In July 2016 it was reported that a Class VIII pupil of another nearby school brought a country-made pistol to school, the article noted that the incident followed the earlier shooting at Dayanand Public School.
