Danny Santos

Daniel "Danny" Santos is a fictional character on the daytime soap opera Guiding Light. He has been portrayed by Paul Anthony Stewart from November 11th, 1998 to November 22th, 2005. He is set to return in late spring/early summer 2009.

Character history

Daniel "Danny" Santos is the second child of Miguel Santos Sr. and Carmen Santos. The Santos family is heavy into the mob life and Danny often spent much of his time trying to get away from that life. Danny three siblings, his late older brother Mick Santos, who accidentally killed by Michelle Bauer when he was trying to [...] her. He has a younger sister Pilar Santos and a younger half-brother Miguel Santos Jr.

Danny arrive in town in search of his brother Mick's killer. He crossed paths with Michelle Bauer, Michelle's boyfriend Jesse Blue and friend Drew Jacobs. Danny soon discovered that Michelle has killed Mick and confronted her. Danny learned the truth and decided that he need to protect Michelle from his family who wanted her killed. The only way that they could do that is get married because Danny's mother wouldn't kill family. Michelle hate him but married him to protect her family. Michelle and Danny begun spending more time together. Michelle protended to grow close to Danny in order to get information to give to the FBI and turn in the Santos family but Michelle actually did start to have feelings for Danny.

Meanwhile, at Carmen’s urging, Danny set a trap for Michelle to see if she was working with the FBI by telling her that he was overseeing an illegal shipment of cigars coming into Springfield. At first, Michelle fell for it and had Drew call the Feds. Later, back at the Santos house, she heard Danny admit to his grandmother, Maria that he was in love with her. Touched by his admission and falling in love with him at the same time, Michelle tried to get Drew to call off the Feds but it was too late.

To keep Danny from getting arrested, she faked going blind again so that he would go with her to the hospital. Later, Carmen's employee, Dietz, informed Danny that the FBI had shown up at the docks for the arrival of the "shipment". Believing that Michelle had deceived him, Danny prepared to punish her but then found out that Carmen had actually called the FBI. Angry, Danny vowed never to forgive his mother and left the family business.
