Colette the Contortionist

Collette the Contortionist is a fictional character in the book series by Lemony Snicket, A Series of Unfortunate Events. She first appears in Book the Ninth, The Carnivorous Carnival, in which she is employed at the Caligari Carnival in the House of Freaks. She lives in a caravan at the carnival with her colleagues and fellow freaks Hugo the hunchback and Kevin, who is ambidextrous.

The series' main characters, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire, are running from the authorities for crimes they had not committed. The three children must disguise themselves as freaks (Beverly and Elliot The Two-headed freak, and Chabo the Wolf Baby) and work with Collette and her co-workers. At the end of The Carnivorous Carnival, Collette joins Count Olaf.

Collette the contortionist appears again in Book the Twelfth, The Penultimate Peril, disguised as a chemist. Whether she survives the disastrous fire at the end of that book is unknown.
