Cobb Symphony Orchestra
The Cobb Symphony Orchestra is a professional orchestra based in Marietta, Georgia. The Cobb Symphony began in 1951 as the Marietta Concert Orchestra and was encouraged and promoted by Mrs. Howard Miller. The group grew to become the Marietta Symphony, and later the Cobb Symphony Orchestra in 1955.
The Cobb Symphony Symphony Orchestra, Inc currently includes, in addition to the Cobb Symphony Orchestra,the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, the Cobb Symphony Chorus, CSO Jazz, the Friends of the CSO and the Georgia Center for the Arts.
The Cobb Symphony Orchestra’s objective is to ensure artistic excellence in a diverse community that takes pride in the Orchestra’s artistic success and feels a sense of ownership for the Orchestra. The Cobb Symphony is further dedicated to becoming a catalyst for community collaborations and for lifelong learning, using technology and other means to broaden the musical experience of current and future audiences.
