City Delivered
City Delivered (formerly Light of Doom) are an American hardcore/screamo band based in Escondido, California, a suburb of San Diego. Their influences include bands like Lower Definition, Emarosa, A Day to Remember, and others.
History
The band was started by Dillon Cahill, Erik Griffin, and Mitchell Wofford. They were later joined by two other young musicians; guitarist Daniel Futcher and bass player Lucas Canziani.
As of October 2007, Light of Doom had played the House of Blues in Anaheim and San Diego, the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, and Soma San Diego. Most recently, the band was selected as a finalist for the premiere season of The Next Great American Band on Fox.
The taping for the show premiere was held at Lake Las Vegas, Nevada the week of August 18, 2007. During these broadcasted eliminations, Light of Doom was selected by The Next Great American Band judges John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, drummer Sheila E., and Aussie Idol judge Ian Dickson, to be one of 69 bands to compete in the finals with the members aged twelve to fourteen at the time.
Light of Doom was voted off the show on December 14, 2007. They finished in 4th place.
The band dedicated its first studio performance in the competition to "Grizz," the head of the band's security team at Experience Studios and also good friend of the band. Grizz lost his home in Ramona, California, to the southern California wildfires.
In February 2008, Erik Griffin left Light of Doom and joined the band Axxys as a guitarist and vocalist. The band went through a complete style change and began searching for a new singer. After a number of months, guitarist Dillon Cahill became the fulltime vocalist, and new member Devon Sanchez replace him at guitar.
In the fall of 2008, the band played as an opening act for Maylene & The Sons of Disaster's headlining tour, alongside A Static Lullaby, Attack Attack! and Confide.
In January 2009, the band flew to Florida to record a 4 track demo. The demo was recorded and prodiced by Kelly Scott Nunn, rhythm guitarist of Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster. The demo was released to both Amazon and the iTunes Store in the form of singles.
In 2010, the band changed its name to City Delivered. The band has recently stated that they are writing songs for a planned 4-track album. They are also scheduled to play another conccert with Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster in March.
