Chris Le (C-Le)

Christopher Howard Le (born November 24, 1988) is a young graphic designer & independent music video director of Vietnamese descent. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and is known for applying a new twist to the hip-hop design industry. His work is known to have an epic feel with saturated colors, He includes abstract, classic ornamental designs in most of his work. He is also the owner and founder of C-Le GFX design studios located in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is currently managing Calico & Blocks.

Early Life

Le was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a state with no major hip hop background in the industry. Coming from a state like this, Le knew that it would be hard to come up in the industry. He designed for local artists around the city until he became recognized state wide as a hip-hop designer. In his high school years is when his name started to take off. He got discovered by Sean Kingston through Myspace and was instantly brought on to work on design campaigns for his self titled album in 2007. After working with Sean Kingston, his name started to excel in the industry as the top "Myspace Designer" which landed him jobs with major labels including Warner Music, Def Jam & Interscope.

Graphic Work

Applying rough, saturated, and epic looks to his visuals was the key success to his work. He started out designing CD covers for local artists which lead him on to designing logos, web and other print work.

Music Video Work

After designing for a few years, Le decided to tackle hip-hop music videos, with a background in post-production and filming, he knew that applying his design methods and style would make his videos unique. He has filmed music videos for Glasses Malone, Shiest Bubz, C-Ride, Cool and Dre, The Game.

Since Myspace started to become the widely used tool to promote MusicAL artists, Le became the talk of the media.
