Camille Jumelle
Camille Jumelle "CJ" is an American film and television costume designer and producer. Jumelle has been a member of the Costume Designers Guild for 25 years. She received a Telly Award for The Jeweled Bird for Costume Design in 2023, and is nominated for a second award for the same film in 2025. A few noteworthy producers, directors and acclaimed actors that she has worked with include: John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Steven Spielberg, Amy Adams, Francesco Cinquemani, George Gallo, Sharon Stone, Scarlett Johansson, Billy Zane, Ed Westwick, John Stamos, George Clooney, Pamela Anderson, Brie Larson, Kat Graham, and Willie Nelson among others.
Career
Jumelle was born and raised in Dobbs Ferry, New York. She has a twin sister. Jumelle attended Parsons School of Design (1988–1990) and the Fashion Institute of Technology (1990–1992) in New York City. Jumelle's grandfather established the House of Vitolo, Italian shirtmakers. Jumelle relocated to Los Angeles in the mid 1990's.
Camille Jumelle began her career selling her sportswear and hand-beaded evening gowns to various series on the ABC Television Network. Eventually, Jumelle ventured into the world of costume design for theater and film, initially coming to fame through her work on Absence of the Good, starring Stephen Baldwin and Tyne Daly.
Jumelle has been the lead costume designer on over 75 films to date. She was the costume designer for Confessions of a Pit Fighter, featuring Armand Assante and Flavor Flav. Her costume design is featured in The Prince, starring 50 Cent, Bruce Willis, and John Cusack. She also designed for Mothers and Daughters, starring Selma Blair, Christina Ricci, and Mira Sorvino. In 2019, she costume designed for The Poison Rose, featuring John Travolta, Morgan Freeman, and Brendan Fraser. Her costume design is also featured in Paradise City, directed by Chuck Russell, featuring Bruce Willis, Stephen Dorff, and John Travolta.
Jumelle's favorite fashion designers include Yves Saint Laurent, Coco Chanel, and Valentino.
