Calm Down It's Monday

Calm Down It's Monday is a Canadian indie rock two-piece featuring Fred Squire and Julie Doiron.

Formed after the break-up of Shotgun & Jaybird, the twosome originally began playing as Blue Heeler, but changed to the name Calm Down It's Monday some time over the winter of 2007-2008.

Their music consists primarily of [...]'s songs from Shotgun & Jaybird as well as his solo material, though during NXNE they played several songs original to Calm Down It's Monday. This has caused some confusion when they have been billed as Julie Doiron. It should be noted that this arrangement has become a de facto reversal of Julie's touring setup which features her songs and [...] playing guitar or drums and singing harmony.

The band's first release consisted of two songs, "The Sweetest May" and "Monumental", which appeared on a split single in May 2009 with two tracks from Doiron's album I Can Wonder What You Did with Your Day. The band's full-length debut is scheduled for release later in 2009. Squire and Doiron also collaborated with Mount Eerie on the 2008 album Lost Wisdom, but were credited as individuals rather than as Calm Down It's Monday.
