Byron Evans (broadcaster)

Byron Evans is a television presenter, working for the Greater Manchester television station, Channel M.

Currently, Evans is the chief anchorman for the station's flagship breakfast programme Channel M Breakfast alongside Nikki Dean, and Benjamin Bland, who is sometimes described as the Mini Me to Byron's Doctor Evil . The show broadcasts every weekday between 6am and 9am. The show features a mixture of local news, weather, InterViews, recorded articles and newspaper reviews.

Prior to joining the breakfast programme for its launch on 16 April 2007, Evans was the station's chief Entertainment Specialist, presenting & producing nightly reports for Channel M News (for which, he was also a stand-in anchor) and the Friday night features show, City Life .

Byron also writes a regular column in the Manchester Evening News on lifestyle issues. He has a pet tortoise called Nigel, and his favourite cheese is Wensleydale. Byron came third in the 2007 Belgian version of Stars in Their Eyes, by impersonating former pop star Limahl singing 'Too Shy' by the band Kajagoogoo. His attempt to enter the Guinness Book of Records by sitting in a bath containing 64 pints of custard for 17 hours, whilst listening to the collected speeches of Timmy Mallett is awaiting verification from the authorities.
