Bloody Sunday (band)

Bloody Sunday is a Christian hardcore band from Virginia Beach, Virginia. The name of the band comes from the Irish massacre in 1972 in which 13 Irish Civil Rights activists were shot dead by the British Parachute Regiment.

Biography

Bloody Sunday was founded in april of 2003 to share their faith through their music. The band first gained attention within 4 months of its inception, being signed to Strike First Records where their LP They Attack At Dawn was recorded in Hampton, Virginia of October 2003. It was produced by Vince Burke at Sniper studios, and was subsequently released on January 17, 2004. After The Release, Bloody Sunday gained a considerable fan base touring relentlessly for months at a time throughout the following year; most known for their incredibly energetic live performances.

At the end of 2004 Bloody Sunday took a few months off from the road and began work on their second album, which would be released by a different label, Facedown Records. Bloody Sunday was scheduled to record their second album in New Jersey at Big Blue Meanie studios. Just weeks before leaving for the studio the band was set back as their vocalist decided to depart from the band. With only weeks left until recording, they decided to have their bassist take over on vocals and find a replacement for him on bass. The New recording was released on May 10, 2005, entitled To Sentence The Dead on Facedown Records. The band is currently working on a third album, which is scheduled for release in late 2007 or early 2008, also to be released by Facedown Records.
