Bissan Rafe
Bissan Rafe Alhussien Qasrawi () is a Palestinian visual artist.
She lives in Houston, Texas. Many of her work depicts the lives of Palestinian diaspora. She exhibited her work at various local Houston galleries and biennials. Her exhibition "Olive Brides" gained critical reviews and has recently been on display at the University of Houston women's gallery.
Olive Brides(2008)
Olive Brides is a series of oil paintings done on both canvas and woods. The series draws the contours of the Palestinian Israeli conflict as seen in the eyes of the Palestinian women: The fashion represented in form of the women clothing, explores the politics, folklore, and the tradition of Palestinian.
Political Cartoons
Rafe has done many political cartoons for independent newspaper and web publisher. She predominantly was the cartoonist for The Daily Cougar newspaper for 2 years.
