Bhushan Mahadani

Bhushan Mahadani is a filmmaker and writer with more than 10 years experience. He is best known for his short films, TV show Top Speed and his online filmmaking course. He has been regarded as one of the top film teacher online.

Early life

Mahadani was born to Sudhakar Mahadani a bank employee and Meera Mahadani a housewife on 2 February 1982 in Murtajapur, Maharashtra, India. He completed his secondary education from Murtijapur High School Murtajapur and higher secondary education from JC Chawre High School Karanja, Maharashtra, India. He has played professional badminton under 16 level for Maharashtra State. He completed Master Diploma In Visual Communication from Asian Academy Of Films & Television, Film City Noida. He is married to a filmmaker Aparna Srivastava Mahadani, on 2 December 2010 whom he met at Asian Academy Of Films & Television. They have a daughter Sarah.

Career

Bhushan Mahadani began his career as an assistant director and cameraman for a documentary on Indian Army.The documentary was widely praised. He started working as a part time lecturer at Asian Academy Of Films & Television and became associate of Professor Karl Bardosh of Tisch School Of Arts, New york University. Umeed a short film was a breakthrough critical success, effectively launching Mahadani's career as a director. He joined Star Tv as a Producer for an automobile show Top Speed which was a huge success. He has worked on numerous projects for Doordarshan, FTV, Star News, Discovery Channel, Ministry Of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Network18, Demand Studios,….

Recently Amazon Studios in association with Warner Bros. selected Mahadani's script for the consideration for a full length feature film.

He is also presently teaching how to learn filmmaking online without spending thousands of dollars by joining film school. He has been considered as one of the best film teacher online and more than 5000 copies of his books has already been sold.

Awards

His short film UMEED has been nominated to as many as 27 national and international film festivals including New York Independent Film & Video Festival, Bollywood & Beyond, River To River Florence, Poitiers Film Festival France, Frankfurt Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival, International Films & Television Research Center,.... Also his Auto Show 'Top Speed' for Star News has won Star Screen Awards for best Auto Show.
