Ben Allan (cinematographer)
Ben Allan ACS is a cinematographer noted for being at the forefront of HD cinematography and digital color grading since 2001. He works in the fields of TV commercials, documentaries, music videos, TV drama series and feature films.
In 2002, he became the youngest person ever to be awarded the ACS letters by the Australian Cinematographer'S Society and the first for work shot in digital high definition.
In 2006 he implemented a new look and work-flow for prime-time TV drama series All Saints. Over the transition the program went from being Australia's lowest rating to the #1 local drama series and Allan received the first Cinematography Award in the show's nine year history.
Ben Allan is also the author of The Grading Sweet, a package of color grading plug-ins for Final Cut, now used in over forty countries across six continents.
